By mistake … civilians were wounded in South Korea after a fighter dumping 8 bombs

The South Korean Air Force announced today that a number of civilians were injured when one of its fighters, by mistake, threw eight bombs that fell outside the archery field specified for the training process that was carrying out.

The Air Force said in a statement.

For his part, a firefighter official said that at least eight people were injured after a shell fell on a civilian area during live ammunition training in Bushon, South Korea. The firefighter said that four of the injured were serious. Bushon is 40 km northeast of Seoul and near the highly armed border with North Korea.

Fire officials suspected that the shell that fell was a joint military training with live ammunition conducted by South Korea and the United States. The official did not mention any details of the type of shell, but he said that firefighting authorities suspected that a fighter plane might have erred during the training.
