84 % of travelers intend to maintain the number of their flights or increase in 2025

A study that included more than 2,400 passengers from the Emirates revealed the growing demand for travel in 2025, where 84% of travelers intend to maintain the number of their trips or increase. “Adventure trips” and “Heritage Tourism” top the list of new tourism trends for the next year. The phenomenon of smart spending also grows with travelers asking for an optimal investment of their flight expenses, while using artificial intelligence technologies in planning trips, as well as growing awareness of sustainable travel.
In detail, the travel sector is heading towards further growth in 2025, according to the “Travel 2025” report issued by Marriott Bonvoi, which explored the opinions of 21,374 people in ten main markets in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
The study in particular dealt with more than 2,400 passengers from the United Arab Emirates and revealed that 84% of the participants intend to increase the number of holidays or at least maintain the same number of travels during this year.
According to the study, 54% of travelers are planning at the same time to increase their holidays in 2025 compared to 2024, while only 10% intend to reduce it.

Travelers indicated that they are planning to spend 2.7 local holidays in their countries in 2025. In addition, the report shows that they are planning to spend 2.5 short -term holidays that require a flight of no more than four hours and 2.3 long -term holidays. This means that the participants will make a total of 7.5 holidays or trip in 2025, equivalent to more than one holiday every two months.
The study also revealed a number of emerging or increasing trends in the world of travel, including what is known as “heritage tourism”, a holiday that the traveler is carried out specifically to explore the history of his family or identify his roots. More than four out of ten participants have previously made this type of holiday (49%). While 47% of others intend to do this next year or in the near future.
In general, 81% of the participants either did these holidays in advance or plan for them and this percentage reaches 85% between the age group from 25 to 34 years. The main motive behind this trend is the belief of 44% of travelers of the importance of “knowing family assets and understanding the nature of the lives of previous generations.”
The study highlights another direction known as “adventure holidays”, during which travelers tend to be bolder while traveling, and they are more willing to try things that they may not dare do in their homelands.

It is expected, according to the study, that trends that had begun to appear deeper in 2025 will be established, especially sustainability and the use of artificial intelligence. More than eight out of ten passengers (87%) indicated that they are taking into account the environmental impact when planning their trips, by bypassing the general average of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa of 72%, but only 26%of travelers adhere to this in all their trips.

In the field of trips planning, the use of artificial intelligence witnesses an accelerated growth with the approach of 2025, as more than two thirds of the participants (74%) reported their use of this technology in planning their trips or searching for the places they want to visit, and the percentage clearly exceeds the general average of the region of 41%.
The “distinguished basics” remains at the top of the travelers’ priorities when choosing their places of residence, as the existing hygiene is exported (85%), followed by the distinctive sites (82%) and the quality of customer service (81%). 72% of travelers place sustainability criteria within their main considerations when choosing the place of residence, while more than half (53%) is preferred for accommodation to be friendly to pets. More than six in ten passengers also confirm the importance of providing services that suit individual travelers (68%).

The main priorities of travelers, according to the report, revolve around spending time with friends and family (47%), followed by the desire for “self -pampering” (40%). However, more than four out of ten passengers (40%) are keen to return from their trips better than they were before traveling.
The study also reveals that travelers seek, despite their intention to increase their flights in 2025, to obtain the best value in exchange for their spending, regardless of their budgets.
Many people do not lose sight of the impact of exchange rates, as nearly half of the travelers (42%) confirmed that they always take into account this point when planning their trips. On the other hand, 8% expressed their intention to take into account exchange rates during 2025, after they had previously ignored them.

Commenting on the results of the report, Sandeb Wali, CEO of Operations in the Middle East and luxury hotels in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said: “The results of this comprehensive report reveal a strong trend towards traveling in the United Arab Emirates, where the vast majority of travelers intend to either increase their flights in 2025 or maintain their rates compared to the previous year. Regional and internationally – with a promising future for the sector next year. “

He added: “The report has monitored a number of prominent trends that will constitute the features of travel in 2025, perhaps the most prominent of which is the increasing demand for adventure trips and heritage tourism, with a clear orientation towards smart spending among travelers of various groups and budgets. It is striking that the use of artificial intelligence has turned during the past year from a mere modern technology into a basic tool in planning trips in the region, especially among the youth category They are dealing with it in full spontaneity. The sustainability has become an essential pillar in travel options and not an additional component, as travelers in the Emirates attach to it, especially when choosing their places of residence.
