Abu Dhabi, March 8 / WAM / The Council of Muslim Elders headed by His Eminence the Grand Imam, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al -Tayeb, Sheikh of Al -Azhar Al -Sharif, affirmed that celebrating International Women’s Day represents an important opportunity to define women’s efforts and their primary role in building nations and homelands, noting that women are the sisters of men, and that they are a key partner in the process of building and development.
He called in a statement on the occasion of International Women’s Day, which corresponds to the eighth of March every year for the need to work to enable women and girls to obtain their rights and support and develop their capabilities, pointing out that Islam is the first to give women their full rights and free them from the shackles and restrictions that were imposed on them.
The Council of Muslim Elderly said that Islam honored the woman as a mother, sister, daughter and wife, and raising her status and position in all her conditions, and urged charity to her, good ten and care for her.
He stressed the need to work to empower and support women; And confronting all forms of violence and discrimination against it, spreading and enhancing awareness of its rights, and providing an environment that motivates it to produce and participate in all fields, noting that the document of the human brotherhood signed by the Honorable Imam, Professor Dr. Ahmed Al -Tayeb, Sheikh of Al -Azhar, Chairman of the Council of Muslim Wise, and His Holiness, Pope Francis, the Pope of the Catholic Church in Abu Dhabi in 2019, confirmed the right of women in the right of women Education and work, and the necessity of working to liberate it from historical and social pressures contrary to the principles and dignity of its faith.
