" Emirates Council for Ring Economy" It discusses the implementation of new policies in the transport, manufacturing and food sectors

Abu Dhabi, March 12 / WAM / The Emirates Council for Ring Economy held its first meeting for the year 2025 headed by His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Council and attended by Sheikha Shama Bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, President and Executive Director of Independent accelerators of the Emirates Climate Change, along with members of the Council from representatives of the governmental and private sectors, and a group of international experts in the fields of the circular economy.

The meeting discussed a set of mechanisms to implement new policies for the circular economy in the country in a group of sectors, including sustainable infrastructure, transportation, advanced manufacturing, food and textile recycling, and enhancing joint work to develop more joint initiatives between the government and private sectors in these vital sectors.

His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri said that the UAE has given the directives of its wise leadership a great interest in the shift towards the model of the circular economy, as it is a basic pillar in achieving sustainable economic and social development, pointing to the continued national efforts to develop more policies and initiatives to enhance the efficiency of resource use, stimulate innovation and attract sustainable investments, in support of achieving the achievement of the “UAE 2031” vision that the state becomes the global center for the new economy and society The most prosperous global by the next decade.

He added that the meeting represented a special importance as it was held under the umbrella of “Intensopia societies”, which witnessed the presentation of many visions and ideas on developing the policies of the circular economy, identifying the appropriate sources of financing to shift towards circular economic models, which constituted a great opportunity to see the best global trends and practices in this direction, and achieve the greatest benefit from them in developing our systems related to the circular economy.

He explained that the integration of the circular economy within the visions and plans of “Intensopia” work enhances the capacity of the competitiveness of companies operating in this vital sector, and supports the provision of new possibilities to develop innovative ideas and establish sustainable projects that serve the development process of the state.

His Excellency pointed out that the adoption of the circular economy policies contributes to enhancing the benefit from the available natural and economic resources and exploiting them in an optimal way, and turning challenges into real opportunities that stimulate economic growth and the private sector plays a vital role in accelerating the development of these policies and launching sustainable projects and initiatives that support efforts in establishing circular economic models.

For her part, Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan said that the circular economy is an essential pillar in building a sustainable future and a strong economy based on innovation and effective resource recruitment, and by enhancing policies supporting circular business models, we guarantee the achievement of extensive economic, environmental and social benefits.

She emphasized that the UAE’s commitment to the circular economy is not just an economic strategy, but rather a comprehensive approach that enhances competitiveness, stimulates innovation, and paves the way for sustainable growth that leads us towards achieving climate neutrality.

She added that the launch of the circular economy course within the “Lonebad” program of the independent speeds of the UAE for climate change represents an important turning point in accelerating the pace of innovation and developing practical solutions to confront the most urgent environmental challenges and explained that this program is not limited to supporting entrepreneurs, but also enables them to convert their ideas into influential projects that make real change, and contribute to reducing the carbon imprint, and promoting Take advantage of natural resources in more intelligent and sustainable ways.

She said that through guidance, cooperation with investors, and providing growth opportunities, we are working to accelerate the adoption of circular solutions across various vital sectors, such as infrastructure, manufacturing, foodstuffs, and transportation, to ensure a comprehensive transformation towards a low -carbon economy.
