المملكة: The lunar eclipse on Friday .. A global astronomical phenomenon will not be seen in the Kingdom
The event will be visible in many regions of the world, but it will not be scenes in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab Gulf states.
Details of the eclipse
The lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth falls between the sun and the moon on one straightness, which leads to blocking the sun’s rays from the moon and entering it under the Earth.
According to the experts, the partial eclipse will start at 8:09 am Saudi time, to reach its peak at 9:58 am, then the moon begins gradually out of the earth’s shadow until the eclipse ends completely at 11:47 am.
Not seeing the eclipse in the Kingdom
Due to the event during daylight hours in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Gulf states and Central Asia, it will not be possible to see it with the naked eye in these areas.
On the other hand, all stages of the eclipse will be clearly visible in North and South America and the two polar continents, while some regions of Europe, Africa and parts of Australia and East Asia will be able to partially see the eclipse.
The astronomical and evaluation side
The phenomenon of the lunar eclipse is an important scientific opportunity to study the movement of the moon, as it contributes to ensuring the beginnings of the lunar months, as the eclipse occurs in the middle of the lunar month when the moon is a doorstep, and when it is near one of the tropical nodes that crosses the level of the orbit of the sun.
Experts affirm that looking at the eclipse does not pose any danger to the eye, unlike the solar eclipse that requires special means of protection.
Global scientific interest
This phenomenon has a great follow -up by those interested in astronomy in the world, as it provides an opportunity to study the movement of heavenly bodies and monitor cosmic shadows.
Although it is not possible to see it in the Kingdom, astronomical bodies and scientific observatories follow the phenomenon accurately and provide its data for the scientific community and those interested in space science.
