The American University of Bahrain launches an advanced laboratory for networks

The American University in Bahrain has launched a new advanced laboratory for networks in the College of Engineering and Computing, as part of its commitment to provide students and professionals with the practical skills necessary to keep pace with rapid developments in the field of information technology and networks, and the laboratory was opened by Dr. Jassim Haji Jassim, the executive advisor to the Sheikh Nasser Center for Research and Development in Artificial Intelligence and the head of the Global Group of Artificial Intelligence.
The new laboratory is a qualitative addition to enhance students ’capabilities and enable them to acquire applied experiences in an environment that mimics practical reality, by providing advanced practical training in the fields of institutional networks, cybersecurity, and automation through the latest Cisco technology.
The laboratory includes the latest devices and software used in the field of networks. Among the advanced devices provided by a modern router that supports dynamic guidance, software technologies, and virtual private network settings, which enhances the efficiency and safety of networks. It also includes a high -performance retinal adapter with 24 Gigette speeds that allow high -speed connections with advanced possibilities for dividing networks. In addition, the laboratory is equipped with an advanced protection wall equipped with an infiltration detection system to protect networks from cyber threats.
In a statement to him on this occasion; Dr. Marwan Hamid, Dean of the College of Engineering and Computing at the American University of Bahrain, stressed that the laboratory represents an important step towards developing students’ skills and qualifying them for the labor market, as it provides an integrated training environment that simulates the requirements of institutions and companies in the technical sector, noting that the university is constantly seeking to update its curricula and equipment in line with the latest global trends in the field of networks and information security.
