Britain calls for a “transparent investigation” in the United Nations building bombing in Gaza

British Foreign Secretary David Lami called for a “transparent investigation” in the death of a Bulgarian employee at the United Nations and the injury of a British relief worker, in an explosion in the Gaza Strip.

On Wednesday, Lami, on the X platform, expressed “dissatisfaction with the targeting of a United Nations building in Gaza this morning,” stressing “the necessity of investigating this incident with transparency and holding accountable those responsible for it.”

He added: “The United Nations and humanitarian workers must be protected.”

The risk of an explosion

“Our 51 -year -old British colleague was evaluating the risk of an explosion in a building belonging to the United Nations Project Services Office when the accident occurred this morning,” said Darn Kormak, CEO of the Organization.

He added in a statement that the injured person “was first transferred to a hospital in Gaza to receive treatment before he was evacuated to a hospital in the occupied territories, and his health condition is unknown.”

The Secretary -General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, expressed his deep sorrow and shocking him of strikes that affected the United Nations buildings in Gaza.

Separation of the northern Gaza Strip from its south

The Israeli occupation tanks penetrated in the center of the Gaza Strip today, and separated the northern Gaza Strip from its south, to restore their control of the so -called “Natsarim” axis, and prevent the movement of the Palestinians between the northern and southern Gaza Strip.

Palestinian medical sources reported that 14 Palestinians were martyred in an Israeli air strike targeting a gathering of Palestinians in the city of Beit Lahia, while four others were martyred in the occupation bombing a house in the city of Beit Hanoun, accompanied by artillery shelling and heavy gunfire towards the northern and eastern areas of the Strip.
