المملكة: Only 55%.. “Consumer Protection” determines the compliance rate of systems

The Consumer Protection Association revealed that the proportion of the commitment of economic operators to regulations does not exceed 55%, which requires more oversight to ensure consumer rights. This came during the annual ceremony of the association, which coincided with the International Consumer Rights Day.
Eng. Abdullah Al -Naeem, Chairman of the Association’s Board of Directors, affirmed, during the ceremony, the association’s keenness to empower the consumer, enhance his awareness, confidence, and ensure his rights, in cooperation with government agencies through effective partnerships.
He added that the association seeks to enable the consumer to make more conscious financial and purchasing decisions, which enhances responsible savings and consumption.

Digital solutions

Al -Naeem explained that the association is working to adopt digital solutions to enhance continuous efficiency and control, noting the development of “hidden shopping” mechanisms to assess stores’ commitment to consumer rights and enhance transparency and quality.
The association also works to analyze the prices of basic products to enable the consumer to compare prices and make studied financial decisions.
Al-Naeem reviewed a number of initiatives and services launched by the association, including launching the strategic plan 2025-2028 to raise ambition, expand the scope of initiatives and enhance transparency in the market, in addition to launching the unified electronic guide for consumer rights, one of the initiatives of the Standing Committee for Consumer Protection in cooperation with government agencies to ensure the modernization of rights with flexibility and clarity.

Also launch the technical comparisons program to help the consumer in making studied purchasing decisions, and launching the consumer’s digital academy in its second version, to enhance consumer awareness and develop his purchasing skills.
At the end of his speech, Al -Naeem affirmed the association’s continued efforts to improve the effectiveness of regulations and legislation, in order to ensure the commitment of goods and services providers to consumer rights.
