The euro area .. Consumer confidence has declined to the lowest levels in 3 months

Pessimism among consumers in the eurozone increased this month with the unexpected decline of the consumer confidence measuring index to the lowest level in 3 months.
According to data, the consumer confidence index in an area fell to a negative 14.5 points during the current month, compared to 13.6 points during the past month.

Analysts expected the index to rise to a negative 13 points, and the index decreased during March to its lowest level since last December.
The decline in confidence came during the current month after its heavy rise in the past month, in a small percentage in the previous month.

The consumer confidence index in the European Union as a whole also declined to a negative 13.9 points during the current month, which is its lowest level since February of last year.

The European Commission said that consumer confidence has retracted more than its average level in the long run again.
It is noteworthy that the data of these indicators depends on the survey conducted during the period from 1 to 20 March.
The final data of the confidence index is scheduled to be published on the 28th of this month.
