The Royal Commission for the City of Makkah and the Holy Places explained that the work of circular and hubs went through successive stages supervised by the authority in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, Public Security, Secretariat of the Holy Capital, the Emirate of Makkah Al -Mukarramah Region, to ensure the implementation of the works according to the highest standards of operational efficiency, and to achieve integration with infrastructure projects for transport.
The second ring road
She indicated that the work of the second ring road for this year was launched by His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah Al -Mukarramah Region, to complete the work launched last year, including the operation of vital axes, and linking the first ring road with a number of important projects such as the path of the path, the Jabal Omar project, the expansion, Prince Muhammad bin Salman road, and the Ajyad road, in addition to operating major intersections in the second ring road, among them Their jerk, the intersection of Al -Tandbawi and the Biban intersection.
The authority indicated that these stages are an essential part of the vision of developing the circular road network in Makkah, which contributes to enhancing the linking between vital centers, and achieving traffic flow that serves the inhabitants of Mecca and its visitors, noting that the completion of business included improving and expanding paths, implementing new intersections, and rehabilitating bridges and slopes to ensure a smooth flow of vehicles movement, in addition to developing entrances and exits, which allow easy access to The neighboring neighborhoods, pointing out that the project achieves a tangible reduction in the time of mobility between the neighborhoods of Mecca and the Holy Places, enhances the efficiency of traffic, and reduces emissions resulting from traffic congestion.
Securing the road’s readiness
The Royal Commission for the City of Makkah and the Holy Places confirmed that the executing stages were carried out in intensive coordination between the various concerned authorities, as the Ministry of Transport and Logistics took over the completion of the construction works of the intersection of Prince Muhammad bin Salman, one of the pivotal points, which contribute to facilitating the link between the second ring road and the important urban centers in Mecca, while the secretariat of the Holy Capital implemented projects. The road related to ensuring the integration of infrastructure with transportation networks, and securing the road’s readiness to keep pace with the increasing traffic flows.
She stated that the security and traffic authorities, in direct coordination with the Emirate of Makkah Al -Mukarramah Region, contributed to the management and regulation of traffic during the implementation stages, with the adoption of new traffic lights to ensure the safe traffic flow, while the various service agencies undertook the implementation of the deportation of water, electricity and communications networks, and to control their paths in line with new expansions, while ensuring the continued provision of services without interruption.
The authority pointed out that the completion of the second ring road represents part of the continuous development process to raise the efficiency of the transport infrastructure in Makkah to keep pace with developments, as continuing to follow up the implementation of the coming stages to enhance the interdependence between the network of circular roads and other development projects, in a way that contributes to improving the movement of mobility within the city, and providing traffic solutions that support the growing growth in the population and visitors.
