The Secretary of the United Nations calls for a ceasefire in Gaza and the entry of aid

The Secretary -General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, expressed his deep anger at the Israeli military attacks on the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the death of hundreds of civilians this week, including an international employee and the injury of others in the shelling of Deir Al -Balah, in addition to the killing of five United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees “UNRWA”.
Guterres called during a speech at the Belgian University of Loffin to restore the ceasefire and allow humanitarian aid, stressing the need to take irreversible steps towards a two -state solution, and to establish a state of Jerusalem, in accordance with international law and United Nations resolutions.

Israeli settlements

In addition, the Secretary -General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, confirmed that the continuous expansion of Israeli settlements changes the occupied West Bank features, and undermines the chances of the establishment of an independent and viable Palestinian state.
This came during a briefing by the United Nations Interim Coordinator for the Middle East peace process, which will redeem Kach, to the Security Council on the implementation of Resolution 2334, which calls on Israel to stop settlement activities immediately.

Kach indicated during the briefing that most of the victims of the recent escalation of women and children, stressing the need for an immediate and sustainable endowment of fire, and ensuring that humanitarian aid is entered without obstacle.
She indicated that Guterres condemned the crimes committed against civilians, rejecting collective punishment and forced displacement, stressing the need to respect international humanitarian law, in addition to the Israeli decisions to stop the delivery of aid to Gaza since March 2, calling for an immediate appeal to enter it, along with commercial goods.
The Secretary -General stressed the importance of a political solution, praising regional and international initiatives, stressing the need to treat Gaza and the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, as one political and economic entity.
