Mansour bin Mohammed witnesses the signing of the launching agreement to launch the digital transformation and sports innovation platform

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the National Olympic Committee, witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Sports and the National Olympic Committee for the launch of the “digital transformation and sporting innovation platform”, with the aim of accelerating the process of digital transformation in the sports sector in the country in order to achieve the national sport strategy targets 2031.
The platform represents a qualitative shift in the march of developing the sports sector, through the establishment of a specialized entity headed by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Balhal Al -Falasi, Minister of Sports to take over the process of speeding up digital transformation, by adopting artificial intelligence applications in supporting athletes, federations and sports clubs, in order to enhance performance governance.
On this occasion, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said that “the launch of the platform for digital transformation and sporting innovation represents a new and important step in the march of developing the sports sector in the country, as well as the features of a new stage for the sector based on knowledge and technology, and enhances the role of sport in national development and supports the Olympic movement’s march.”
His Highness added: “The platform is an essential pillar in our efforts towards promoting innovation and adopting the latest technologies to advance the digital transformation in the sports sector, in line with the targets of the national strategy for sports 2031, by providing the appropriate environment to enable sports and sports institutions to benefit from smart solutions that enhance performance and rise to the level of sport in the country to new horizons, as investing in modern technologies enhances competitiveness Our sports sector at the regional and international levels, and contributes to achieving the leadership and sporting excellence of the UAE, in order to achieve our rational leadership in making sport an essential pillar in the process of sustainable development. “
A qualitative shift in the sports system
The signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement was attended by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Balah Al -Falasi, Minister of Sports, and was signed by His Excellency Ghanem Mubarak Al -Hajri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports, and His Excellency Fares Mohamed Al -Mutawa, Secretary -General of the National Olympic Committee. This cooperation is established for an integrated sporting digital structure based on data, and supports state leadership in the sports field at the regional and international levels.

His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Balhal Al -Falasi said that digital transformation is no longer an option, but rather a necessity to achieve sustainability and progress in the sports sector, noting that the platform will provide an integrated environment that depends on modern technology for performance analysis, talent development, and simplifying processes, in a way that contributes to raising efficiency and consolidating smart governance. The platform for digital transformation and sports innovation aims to create an integrated infrastructure that includes advanced systems to manage athlete data, performance analysis, and talents discovery platforms. Its most important outputs include: providing smart digital solutions to clubs and federations and analyzing huge data to make accurate decisions based on artificial intelligence and supporting innovation and entrepreneurship in sports technology. The platform will also launch specialized training programs aimed at building digital capabilities for administrative and technical cadres in clubs and federations, to enhance their efficiency in digital analysis, data governance and modern sports technology.
Strategic partnerships.
The platform will rely on strategic partnerships with national and international sports bodies, foremost of which is the National Olympic Committee, the UAE Committee for Elite Sports and Higher level, and the Emirates Talent Care Committee, in addition to partnership with the private sector and technological companies to develop innovative sports solutions.
In the coming weeks, it is scheduled to announce the institutional identity of the platform, and to form its board of directors, which includes a group of experts in the fields of sports and technology. The launch of the platform reflects the UAE’s commitment to continuing its global leadership in building a sports future based on knowledge, innovation and data.
