Putin announces an increase in the Russian military presence in the Arctic

Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced plans to send more soldiers to the Arctic to enhance Moscow’s military presence in the region.
In his interview at the International Forum of the Northern Pole, Putin, Putin, pushed the Murmansk city that the Russian government will accelerate the pace of building military protectors in the polar region, and stated that “this of course is related to the promotion of our military presence in the region, the number of soldiers will increase there.”

NATO threats

He stressed Russia’s need to emphasize its rights amid what it described as threats from NATO “NATO”, and accused Putin NATO of increasing the far north as a potential fighting field.
He pointed out that forces from NATO will also be sent to the region from Finland and Sweden, “which we had no problems with them until recently.”
Finland and Sweden joined NATO due to security concerns after the comprehensive Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, and despite Putin’s warnings of NATO, he insisted that Russia does not represent a threat, saying that “Russia does not threaten anyone.”
