The President of “Emirates Airlines” on the expansion of the carrier: only the moon remains

In an interview with “Aviv Wake” magazine on the sidelines of a symposium in Berlin, Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airlines, expressed his dissatisfaction with the continuing restrictions imposed by some governments on the air traffic, which limits the expansion of the company’s operations, and at the same time, in exchange for this restriction, Clark referred to the countries that welcomes “Emirates Airlines” with open arms.
Clark said that many other countries have open atmosphere agreements with the UAE, adding: “We have a complete open atmosphere agreement with Argentina … President (Javier Millie) told us: Do what you want – just come.”
Clark stated: “Our brand is highly appreciated by many South American governments, and they are very keen to be present in their countries.”
“The only remaining place for Emirates Airlines expansion is the moon,” he added jokingly.
He said: “Many governments there want strongly in our existence, and this reflects the strength of our brand.”
As for the future “Emirates Airlines” plans, Clark revealed that the operations at Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai will start between 2032 and 2034, indicating that the huge project investments amount to 50 billion dollars to develop this global “axis”.
In the context of his talk about international partnerships, Clark praised the growing cooperation with United Airlines, describing it as the strong partnership that started in March 2023 through direct trips between New York and Dubai.
He also noted the “effective” partnership with “Fly Dubai”, which complements the Emirates Airlines network by covering destinations that are not suitable for its giant planes.
