Trump expects stocks to flourish on the stock exchange despite customs duties

US President Donald Trump stressed Thursday that the stocks “will flourish” as well as the American economy, despite sharp declines in global markets after announcing the imposition of customs duties on his country’s imports.
“The financial markets will flourish,” Trump told reporters while he was leaving the White House, heading to Florida in response to a question about the retreat of Wall Street and other stock exchanges.
