The International Special Olympics launches a leading research agenda at the World Disability Summit

Abu Dhabi, April 4 / WAM / The International Center for Special Olympics for Integration in Education today announced the launch of a comprehensive research road map entitled “A global research agenda to create comprehensive educational environments.”
This initiative, which was announced at the World Disability Summit in Berlin, is led by a research team of the center that includes a group of researchers from the most prominent international universities, including Yale University, Harvard University, and New York University Abu Dhabi.
The agenda is a strategic step to enhance a collective understanding of inclusion in education, by addressing the gaps of knowledge in education and sports.
The agenda also seeks to improve educational outcomes for students with mental and developmental disabilities and others, thanks to the completion of this work for a grant of 25 million US dollars, provided by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, for the Special Olympics in 2020.
The research agenda defines a series of fundamental questions about inclusion, starting with the efficiency of the cost related to inclusive programs, and to reach the most effective partnerships and practices to support the successful implementation of programs for programs, and the agenda also highlights the importance of answering these questions and supporting them with compelling evidence, after years of the global research community lack of interest in it.
