Sharjah, April 7 / WAM / Sheikha Badour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Book Authority, opened today the fourth edition of the “International Distributors Conference” organized by the Authority in the Expo Center Sharjah with wide participation of more than 750 distributors, publishers and seller of books from 92 countries, in addition to the participation of 60 Emirati, Arab and international publishing houses in special wings and attended by a number of official personalities and writers and libraries experts from Different around the world.

Sheikha Badour Al Qasimi said in her speech during the opening of the conference that the flexibility of book distributors lies in their ability to adapt and innovate and build vibrant societies in their surroundings and their business spaces. Culture and society.

The work of the first day of the conference began with a dialogue session with Renososaliti, the executive director of the Italian company “Mesagiri Liberi” for the distribution of books, reviewing the experience of his company, which is one of the major distribution companies in Italy, stressing that the distribution in his contemporary concept is no longer just a process of transferring books but rather a strategic partnership linking the publisher to markets, institutions and readers, and helps him to achieve sustainability and growth.

He added that you are a distributor that means that you are at the heart of the publishing sector providing financial, technical and technical support to publishers through partnerships with credit institutions and banks, and we are easy for publishers to access financing tools, public relations services, content development and distribute it efficiently.

Sheikha Badour Al Qasimi witnessed on the sidelines of the opening of the conference’s work signing a partnership between the “Sharjah Book Authority” and the Arab Bokvires company in the field of audio and electronic books, which was signed by His Excellency Ahmed bin Rakad Al -Amiri, CEO of the Authority and Ali Abdel -Moneim, the founding partner and CEO of the company.

The project aims to enrich the system of publishing and voice and digital production by stimulating innovation, enhancing technological partnerships, developing the Arab digital market, protecting intellectual property rights and expanding the scope of Arab content globally. It also includes the production of audio and electronic books annually and the creation of a modern studio to produce high -quality Arabic audio content that keeps pace with the finest international standards.

The first day of the conference witnessed the launch of a series of professional workshops, sessions and seminars, which chose the distributors and sellers of the participating books in accordance with their professional needs with the aim of developing their skills in various fields related to the management of libraries and enhancing distribution and marketing operations.
