The Fourteenth Forum for Early Arab Theater in Sharjah supports cultural and artistic cooperation


Sharjah, March 25, WAM / Ahmed Burahima, Director of Theater Management at the Department of Culture and Director of Sharjah Theater Days, said that “Sharjah Theater Days”, thanks to the support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, represents a pioneering cultural, artistic and intellectual project that continues to develop year after year, based on a broad public base, which was evident in the opening ceremony of the current session, thus strengthening its position as the largest theatrical event in the Emirates.
During a meeting with the participants in the 14th Sharjah Forum for Pioneers of Arab Theater, who are guests at the 35th session of Sharjah Theater Days, Bourahima stressed that the forum, which was launched under the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, represents a platform to celebrate the distinguished graduates of theater institutes and colleges, and a knowledge bridge that allows them to get to know and learn about the theatrical scene in Sharjah, and meet the symbols of Arab theatre.
He explained that Sharjah Theater Days is based on multiple tracks, combining local performances and intellectual activities open to Arab participants, in addition to hosting stars of Gulf and Arab drama, which gives it a diverse and lively character.
He touched on the objectives of the Sharjah Forum for Early Arab Theater, describing it as an interactive platform for fusing knowledge and experiences, stressing that supporting young creators represents a fundamental pillar for spreading the theatrical culture that Sharjah seeks, and urging participants to benefit from the accompanying workshops and lectures, which contributes to acquiring new skills, exchanging experiences, and building creative cooperation relationships.
He pointed out that the forum attracts distinguished youth models from various Arab countries, with the aim of strengthening communication between them and linking them to the experiences of theater pioneers, in a way that consolidates the exchange of knowledge and the continuity of dialogue between generations. He pointed out that previous sessions achieved outstanding results, represented by the interaction of the participants and their eagerness to attend various events.
He stated that the theatrical movement in Sharjah includes eight specialized festivals, including the Kalba Festival for short plays, the Sharjah Desert Theater Festival, in addition to specific festivals such as Khor Fakkan theatrical festival, the Dibba Al-Hisn Duo Theater Festival, and the school and scout theater festivals, as part of an integrated vision to expand the base of participation and develop the theatrical experience.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants expressed their appreciation for the experience provided by the Emirate of Sharjah, stressing that it represents an important station for refining their skills and expanding their artistic horizons. They also praised the opportunities provided by “Sharjah Theater Days” for dialogue and cultural exchange between different Arab experiences, which enhances opportunities for cooperation and enriches the theatrical movement.
