Ahmed bin Saeed opens the 49th edition of the Middle East Energy Exhibition 2025

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Supreme Energy Council in Dubai, opened today the activities of the forty -ninth edition of the Middle East Energy Exhibition 2025, which is one of the most prominent international exhibitions specialized in the energy sector, announcing the start of the largest session in the event of the event that extends over 49 years.
The exhibition, which will continue until the ninth of April, will be held under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and with the participation of 40,000 international energy experts, including more than 500 senior buyers to see the latest innovations offered by 1,600 exhibitors from 90 countries.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed emphasized that the UAE, thanks to the wise vision and good directives of its wise leadership, headed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and his brother His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God bless him, have become a global model that is followed in the process of shift towards the green economy and promoting dependence on renewable and clean energy sources … Its position was established as a central destination to host and organize the most prominent international events and exhibitions, especially in the areas of sustainability and energy, which reflects its serious commitment to support global efforts to build a more sustainable future for future generations.
His Highness pointed out the importance of this international event in supporting the efforts to shift towards sustainable energy and enhance the UAE’s position as a global center for energy innovation, pointing out that the event represents a pioneering platform that brings together the most prominent experts and international and local companies to display the latest innovations and technologies that contribute to drawing the features of the future of the energy sector.
His Highness said that organizing the exhibition in the Emirate of Dubai for the forty -ninth year, respectively, reflects international confidence in the emirate as a strategic center for conferences and exhibitions and enhances its role in leading global dialogue on energy security and sustainability.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, accompanied by Saeed Mohammed Al -Tayer, Vice -President of the Supreme Energy Council in Dubai and a number of officials of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, made a field tour in the corridors of the exhibition, during which he was briefed on the most prominent participating wings and listened to an explanation from representatives of international companies and institutions on the latest solutions and innovative technologies in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency.
During the tour, His Highness got acquainted with a number of leading projects that reflect the accelerated progress in adopting sustainable technologies and the growing role that Dubai and the UAE play in leading the future of energy at the regional and global levels.
For his part, Saeed Mohammed Al -Tayer, Vice President of the Supreme Energy Council in Dubai, affirmed the UAE’s commitment to accelerate the pace of transformation in the energy sector in line with the directives of the rational leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and his brother His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God bless him, to achieve a balance between sustainable economic growth, environmental protection and energy security.
During a speech delivered on behalf of Suhail bin Muhammad Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, he explained within the opening activities of the Middle East Energy Exhibition and Forum 2025 that the shift towards clean energy is a global strategic priority, especially in light of international efforts aimed at achieving carbon neutrality by the middle of the century.
He pointed out that the UAE aims to produce 20 GW of clean energy by 2030 through major projects being implemented in Abu Dhabi and Dubai that includes the projects of the “Masdar” company and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Energy Complex of the largest of its kind in the world in one location and is implemented by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority.
He reviewed the most prominent axes of the Emirates Energy Strategy 2050, which aims to double the productive capacity of renewable energy three times by 2030 and achieve energy efficiency by 45 in the tissue by 2050. He also dealt with the national strategy of hydrogen 2050, which aims to support low carbon industries and achieve climate neutrality while seeking to produce 15 million metric tons of hydrogen annually by 2050.
Al -Tayer noted that the UAE’s commitment is not limited to the local level, but also extends globally, as the state invested more than $ 50 billion in renewable energy projects in more than 70 countries with plans for additional investments during the current decade.
