Trade Technology Forum in Abu Dhabi looks forward to the future of global trade

Abu Dhabi, April 10/ WAM/ Abu Dhabi hosted the 2025 Trade Technology Forum, which constitutes a pivotal event in the global trade scene, where leaders and high -ranking leaders from different parts of the world gathered to explore the transformational capabilities of trade technology.
His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al -Zyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, attended the opening ceremony of the forum, which is a basic pillar of the World Trade Technology Initiative launched by the Ministry of Economy and the Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi in partnership with the World Economic Forum, in order to update the global trade system through technology -based solutions.
The forum was held in conjunction with the AIM Investment Summit 2025, and it included major words delivered by His Excellency Juma Al -Kate, Assistant Undersecretary for International Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Economy, His Excellency and Meclelli Mini, Secretary -General of the African Continental Free Trade Secretariat (AFCFTA), and His Excellency Joanna Hill, Deputy Director General of the World Trade Organization, where they reviewed advanced steps in the field of technology that can be possible Merging it into the supply and supply chain in order to establish a more green, intelligent and more green commercial environment.
In his main speech, His Excellency Juma Al -Kait stressed the commitment of the UAE to make the desired transfer in this sector, explaining that the Trade Technology Forum is not limited to presenting ideas, but is related to field work.
He stressed that it is the duty to trade the digital revolution, and the power of technology must be harnessed to reshape global trade, and by expanding the scope of innovative solutions, developing supportive regulatory frameworks, and encouraging their accreditation on a large scale, it can be guaranteed that trade will flow freely, efficiently and sustaining.
He also stressed that the UAE is determined to lead this shift, enable the next generation of business leaders in the field of trade technology, and establish a future in which trade is more intelligent, speedy and easy for everyone.
For his part, Tim Stekinger, head of the Trade Technology Initiative at the World Economic Forum, stressed the need for more bridges builders, governments, institutions and innovators, who are ready to combine strengths and construction of common ground, and this is the essence of the Trade Technology Initiative, pointing out that the matter is not limited to spreading the latest technologies, but rather applying them in a comprehensive manner, across borders and in various sectors.
The Commerce Technology Initiative includes the annual trade technology report, which provides visions and analyzes on the adoption of emerging technologies in the commercial field, and the trade technology speed, which provides startups with support for the development of advanced technology solutions, to enhance commercial operations, and “Tradetech Regulatory Sandbox”, which are used to test preliminary systems. The “Trade Technology Technology Laboratories to experience and organize technologies” have achieved prominent achievements, as eight participants have experienced solutions to simplify trade financing and promote digital documentation. During the forum, it was highlighted on leading and innovative projects, including, for example, the digital trade platform compatible with “Model Law on Transfer Electronic Records” (Mletr), and “Digital Product Passport” based on “Blockchain” technology (to record transactions via multiple computers that cannot be changed).
The opening “Trade Technology acceleration program” also concluded, in cooperation with the largest global platform for innovation: “Influe & Play” – Abu Dhabi, which was crowned with a pilot show day in which 14 emerging companies provided their most advanced solutions that aim to convert global trade and supply and supply chains, through solutions that extend to smart ports, logistical services paid artificial intelligence, financing, financing, and financing.
