Details of the fourth day of the spring meetings of the IMF and the World Bank
The meeting dealt with many sessions, including the use of data in support of national economic decisions and reforms and the impact of artificial intelligence on the labor market.
Spring meetings
In a session entitled “Enabling Data Policy through Renewable Partnerships”, the fund launched the second phase of the “D4D-II Data Support Initiative”, which aims to enhance statistical capabilities and provide technical assistance to developing economies and low-income countries affected by conflicts, during which it guarantees a review of the success of the first stage and new directions for the next stage.
The initiative aims to respond to the rapid and flexible response to technical assistance requests in the fields of kidney statistics and support for the continuous international Monetary Fund efforts to enhance national statistical capabilities.

Artificial intelligence economy
A special session entitled “Ethiopia in the face of challenges: the application of the transformative reform from the central bank” shed light on the experience of Ethiopia in implementing radical monetary reforms that included adopting a more flexible exchange rate system after decades of oversight.
A session entitled “Towards a Workforce ready for artificial intelligence: strategic cooperation between the public and private sectors” discussed the impact of artificial intelligence on the labor market, and the need for cooperation between the two sectors to rehabilitate the workforce and develop policies that guarantee a fair and sustainable transition towards the economy of artificial intelligence.
