"Siemens" Invested in the establishment of a new digital transformation center in the railway sector in Austria

Vienna on April 11 / WAM / The German “Siemens” group announced the investment of 25 million euros in the establishment of a modern center for developing digital transformation technologies in the railway sector, through its sub -company “Siemens Mobility” specializing in transport technology in the Austrian capital Vienna.
A statement of the company revealed the start of construction work in the new center, which will be an advanced test center for digital transformation technologies in the field of railway infrastructure, and the reaction of various information technology systems, with a special focus on scientific research, development and testing on an area of 2500 square meters.
The company expected partially operating the center starting in the fall of 2025, to reach its full operational capacity during 2026.
“The new test center prompts the digital railway transformation,” said Tania Kenneger, CEO of Siemens Mobilyte.
He noted that the new digital rail laboratory will play a decisive role in implementing two major projects in Austria, the first is to develop the Austrian rail network “öbb”, using innovative technologies by 2038, which makes Austria have one of the latest railway networks in the world, and the second project focuses on supporting the comprehensive development of the subway system in the capital Vienna, in conjunction with support for other projects In Central and Eastern countries.
