The Film Authority organizes a workshop in Al -Ula for cinematic lighting skills

The Film Authority announced the organization of a specialized attendance training workshop entitled “Film Lighting – Gaffer), during the period from April 13 to 16 in Al -Ula Governorate, with the participation of a group of interested and practitioners in the field of filming and film production.

Lighting expert skills

The workshop, which lasts for four days, targets between 20 to 30 participants from filmmakers who have a background in cinematography and a good level in the English language, as it aims to qualify them to carry out the responsibilities of the lighting expert in production crews, and enable them to advance the skills that keep pace with the standards of global industry.

The workshop is presented by the global lighting expert, “Larry Brings”, who owns more than 52 years of experience in the fields of cinematic and television lighting, where the participants will lead through a group of specialized axes, the most prominent of which is the scenario analysis to determine the technical lighting requirements and the mechanisms of the lighting team organizing, in addition to direct supervision of the implementation of lighting plans and seizure during filming.

Building technical capabilities for the participants

The workshop also focuses on the applied outputs that contribute to building the technical capabilities of the participants, including learning professional methods for dealing with various photography environments, and achieving a balance between the artistic and dramatic aspects of the cinematic scene.

This workshop comes within the series of initiatives adopted by the Film Authority to enhance specialized skills in the film sector, and support the local production environment by providing practical training and interactive workshops that are held in sites of cultural and tourism value such as Alla.
