The Board of Trustees of the Emirati article Award announces the names of the winners of the “first session” awards

The Board of Trustees of the Emirati Article Award announced the names of the winners of the article awards in its first session, during a press conference at the Dubai Press Club, today, where statistics revealed that females export to the participants with a total of 58 posts compared to 46 participants for males, while females won the largest share of the Emirati article awards.

The Chairman of the Prize Board of Trustees, Dr. Abdel -Khaleq Abdullah, announced that Al -Anoud Saeed Al -Muhairi won the Social Article Award for its article “Dubai Chocolate”, and Dr. Badia Khalil Al -Hashemi won the literary article award for her article “The Identity of Man and Place in the Emirati Novel”, and Maryam Ali Al -Balushi won the economic article award for her “climate change … sustainability in the heart of the UAE’s economic agenda.”

Abdullah also announced that Dr. Saeed Hassan Ali won the Political Article Award for his article, “The Soft Emirati Power … a new global concept”, and the victory of Sheikha Hamad Al -Kaabi by the International Article Award for its article “Reuse the Future”, while she won the Intellectual Article Award, Mona Khalifa Al -Hamoudi, for the article “The dynamic citizen … the philosophy of the rooted change in a transformed world.”

The Board of Trustees of the Award honored the great writer Ali Obaid Al -Hamli, the “UAE Pioneer 2025” award, which was added this year to the awards. She also won the award for the smallest participation in the award for the Branch of the Intellectual Article Amal Abdulaziz Mohamed (15 years old) for her article, “The Emirates where tolerance makes the miracle of coexistence”, and won the smallest award award for the scientific article, Mahra Muhammad Al -Azizi, for its article, “A virtual world towards the future”.

Dr. Abdel -Khaleq Abdullah explained that the winners are to be honored and the prizes will be honored during a ceremony to be held on May 26 in conjunction with the Emirati Media Day.

He pointed out that the award’s Board of Trustees decided to add two new branches to the award starting next year; The first of them is the artistic branch and includes theater, singing and arts of all kinds, and the second is a branch of residents on the land of the state under the name “Article on the Emirates with a resident pen”, while it was decided to allocate a third prize for youth for those under eighteen years starting from next year.

Abdullah said: “We received this year more than 100 participating texts, which is a large number that exceeded our expectations, especially since we believed that the number of applicants in the first session will not exceed 40 posts,” considering this as a success for the Emirati article award and Dubai Club for Journalism and the UAE National Writer, who found in the award an opportunity to participate.

He added: “Our goal is to increase participation and reach the Emirati writer to the world, as our joy is indescribable with this great success,” revealing that the Dubai Press Club decided to support the award financially and literally, so that its value becomes 20 thousand dirhams instead of 10 thousand dirhams starting from next year.

He pointed out that in the context of cooperation with the Dubai Press Club, it was decided to organize a workshop for the Emirati writer to develop its capabilities and support this journalistic art.

In response to a question to “Emirates Today” regarding relying on artificial intelligence in articles, Dr. Abdel -Khaleq Abdullah said: “We received 10 posts supported by artificial intelligence this year, as we allowed a margin to be based on artificial intelligence, especially since the state entered the era of technological development, but the committee determined within its conditions that if it is used in a certain percentage, it must be announced and clarified.”

Meanwhile, a member of the Board of Trustees of the award, Mira Al -Janahi, said in response to the question: “We cannot prevent artificial intelligence, because it has become a reality in front of us, but some members of the committee considered that it is an ordinary matter that may be relied upon, while others saw that it is negative and not in the interest of the applicant,” explaining that the percentage of articles that relied on artificial intelligence was few and did not exceed 9% of the total participants.

Mira Al -Janahi explained that the total participants in the award this year amounted to 117 posts, 13 participants were excluded from the lack of conditions on them, noting that the social article recorded 37 posts, 23 for the literary article, 19 for the intellectual article, 9 articles in the scientific article branch, and 8 in the economic article, 8 in the political article.

She pointed out that the females topped the participants with a total of 58 posts compared to 46 posts for males, while only 10 posts used artificial intelligence, with a rate of 9%. While praised the great participation received by the Board of Trustees of the award this year, reflecting the keenness on the positive participation by the Emirati article writers, pointing out that it is possible to add new branches in the future other than the branches that were announced, starting from next year.
