Monday transactions .. a slight rise in oil prices upon settlement

Oil prices recorded a slight increase when settling at the end of trading on Monday.
Brent crude futures rose by 12 cents, or 0.2%, to $ 64.88 a barrel upon settlement.
The US West Texas Intermediate crude futures increased 3 cents, to reach $ 61.53 a barrel.

The growth of global demand growth

The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) expects to slow down the growth of global oil demand during the current and next years, as a result of the new customs duties imposed by the United States.

OPEC stated in its monthly report issued today, Monday, that in light of the current expectations, global demand for oil will increase this year by 1.3 million barrels per day, to about 105.5 million barrels per day.

Predicts of global demand for oil

OPEC had previously expected demand to grow by 1.4 million barrels per day, while its expectations for the growth of demand next year reduced 1.4 million barrels to 1.3 million barrels per day.

The OPEC report indicated that the global economy will be affected by the increased uncertainty resulting from the customs duties battle currently witnessing the world.
