The start of the preparatory runs of the Fazaa Championship for free diving “Al -Hiyari”
Dubai, April 16 / WAM / The preparatory runs of the 18th edition of the Fazza Free Dive Championship, which is organized by the Fazza Championships Department at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for Heritage Revival, will be held for the third year in a row in “Deep Dave Dubai”, the deepest swimming pool in the world, with local, Gulf and international participation of the elite of specialized athletes.
The training continues throughout the current week, in preparation for the start of the qualifiers on Saturday, March 19, with the finals take place on Sunday 20 March, within three categories, which are open, citizens, Gulf, and youngsters.
The tournament is one of the most prominent heritage sporting events that mimic traditional diving skills in search of pearls, and embodies the depth of the Emirati and Gulf marine heritage.
His Excellency Hamad Ahmed Al -Rahoumi, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Championship, expressed his happiness with the wide participation this year, especially from the Gulf states, in addition to the distinguished participation of the contestant Issa bin Abdullah Al -Rashidi, from the people of determination, in the first appearance of its kind in the championship.
He stressed that “Deep Dav Dubai” provides an exceptional challenge for the participants, because of its advanced sports environment that suits the requirements of free diving, expressing the aspiration of the organizing committee of the championship to an exceptional version that reflects the spirit of heritage and innovation together.
