المملكة: A comprehensive survey of poultry projects and plans to confront bird flu and salmonella
Participants discussed ways to enhance the sustainability of the poultry sector in the Kingdom, focused on the “one health” approach that links human health, animal and the environment.
The meeting deepened in discussing the results of the current comprehensive survey of poultry projects and assessing the percentage of general hypocrites in it, reviewing ways to enhance and develop biological security procedures within these vital projects.
Recommendations and suggestions
The attendees also listened to a detailed presentation on the proposed recommendations for the application of updated operational procedures for biotechnology, designed specifically to suit the commercial poultry sector in the Kingdom.
In a related context, the participants reviewed the current epidemiological situation of high -virgin bird flu, whether at the local or international level, and reviewed the emergency plan prepared to face any possible outbreak of the disease.
A comprehensive report of the recent workshop was found on the fight against salmonella in poultry, in addition to a presentation on the guide to biological security measures allocated to poultry breeders in rural areas.
Poultry immunization
The meeting discussed the recommendations of the World Animal Health Organization (WOAH) related to poultry immunization against high -virgin bird flu, and discussed its suitability for application in the Kingdom.
The comprehensive executive plan for the epidemiological investigation of poultry diseases scattered in the country was reviewed, and its pivotal role in drawing the exact epidemic map of these diseases was reviewed.
The center pointed out that this map will enable it to predict the spread of diseases, which allows the development of policies and preventive and effective treatment.
Development ways
Discussions also included ways to develop current control and control programs on poultry diseases in the Kingdom.
The meeting affirmed their full support for the executive plan to combat salmonella microbes in poultry projects, in addition to their support for the mechanism of implementing the mandatory periodic disclosure system for the types and amounts of antimicrobials used in these projects, to ensure their rational use.
The organization and sponsorship of the “Waqa” center for the work of this technical committee, which is emanating from the Veterinary Council for Poultry, comes as part of its basic role stipulated in its organization, which is to implement the policies of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture aimed at fighting pests and animal diseases.
An integrated system
Through these efforts, the center aims to take the necessary preventive and therapeutic measures to ensure the health and sustainability of livestock, to enhance the participation of the private sector, and to unify efforts between the various concerned authorities, in order to achieve its strategic goal of building an integrated system to control animal diseases and their vectors according to the principles of the “single health approach”.
