The Economic Integration Committee reviews the developments of the development of legislation to enhance the competitiveness of the business environment

Abu Dhabi, April 17/ WAM/ The Economic Integration Committee held its third meeting of 2025, headed by His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri, Minister of Economy in the presence and membership of His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al -Zyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, His Excellency Alia Bint Abdullah Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, and directors of the general economic development departments in the emirates of the state.
The committee reviewed the developments of the development of a number of economic legislation and its importance in enhancing the competitiveness of the business environment in the country, and supporting its vision in the shift towards the new economic model based on knowledge and innovation, and the progress made by the committee in implementing the outputs and recommendations of the second meeting of 2025.
His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri stressed that the UAE, thanks to the directives of its rational leadership, made wide strides in providing advanced and advanced economic structure, which was characterized by flexibility and stability, and provided an ideal and attractive economic environment for investors, entrepreneurs and corporate owners from all over the world, which contributed to enhancing the growth of the national economy and supporting its competitiveness at the regional and global levels.
In this context, His Excellency pointed out that the Economic Integration Committee has played a very important role in developing legislation and economic policies in the country, adopting innovative national initiatives, and enhancing cooperation and coordination with the relevant authorities at the federal and local levels, to ensure harmony between legislative regulations and regulations, especially since the state has worked to develop more than 30 legislation and economic decision over the past four years.
His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq said during the meeting that the UAE is witnessing a new stage to enhance the competitiveness of its legislative environment in accordance with the best global practices, through the adoption of the Council of Ministers as a decision to launch an integrated smart legislative system to develop legislation and laws in the UAE government is based on the thought and solutions of artificial intelligence, as this system will enhance the economic work of the committee and support its efforts in proposing and developing new legislation and economic policies and measuring its impact in a manner On the business community, and the ease of communication with the concerned authorities in the country.
His Excellency explained that the new system will have a positive impact in supporting the national target of the vision of “We UAE 2031”, with the country obtaining the first position globally in developing the pre -emptive legislation of the new economic sectors by the next decade.
The committee discussed a number of vital issues during the meeting, including the developments of the legislative and executive system to regulate and protect competition in the state and the importance of organizing workshops and seminars in cooperation with the relevant local authorities to enhance awareness of the importance of applying legislation and policies related to competition in the various economic sectors, and avoiding monopolistic practices, in order to support the achievement of the economic balance of the market and protect consumer rights.
The committee reviewed the most prominent achievements of the Emirates Council for the Ring Economy during the last stage, foremost of which is the adoption of 22 policies for the circular economy in 4 main sectors, including manufacturing, food, infrastructure and transportation, the establishment of the Ring Economy Policies Committee, and the establishment of fruitful partnerships with the UAE private sector to motivate it to expand in the areas of sustainable technology, clean energy, and waste management.
The committee affirmed its support to ensure the application and success of these policies, and to accelerate the pace of the transformation of the circular economy model, which contributes to providing a more prosperous future for current and future generations and supports the state’s vision in becoming the most prosperous society in the coming decade.
