The UAE Books for Advistors concludes an intense artistic workshop in Morocco

Casablanca on April 17/ WAM/ The UAE Books of Advisors concluded today, a technical training workshop, which was held for four days in the CDA Gallery, in the Moroccan city of Casablanca, as part of the “Workshop” of the International Prize for Arab Child Literature, presented by “EMD” organized by the Council, and aimed at developing technical capabilities, and promoting creative dialogue between two painters from 6 Arab countries.

Participated in the workshop, which was organized by the Council in partnership with the Moroccan Council of Books of Advisors, 14 painters, 5 from the Emirates, 5 from Morocco, and 4 from Egypt, Jordan, Oman and Tunisia, and the program provided an opportunity for the participants to build and develop their capabilities, and benefit from the workshop axes, which included a mixture of practical training and teamwork to the production of visual projects ready for presentation and publishing.

The workshop was supervised by two of the most prominent names in the field of painting and visual authorship, French painter Annie Corto, who presented sessions on visual narration and scene composition, and the Egyptian artist Walid Taher, who focused in his training on the relationship between the word and the image and methods of expressing the idea with various media, and training includes theoretical sessions, interactive shows and collective applications on artistic projects that can benefit Including books for children and adolescents.

The atmosphere of the workshop was distinguished by a spirit of openness and cooperation, as the participating artists exchanged their experiences and ideas, and participated in in -depth discussions on the challenges of drawing children’s books and methods of developing the artistic style of each painter. The nature of the workshop also helped build professional relationships, developed within short days into promising partnerships that can be expanded in future joint projects.

Marwa Al -Aqroubi, President of the UAE Council of Books of Advisors, said the organization of the workshop that enhances the artistic and cultural exchange between Emirati and Moroccan painters, refine their skills and encourage them to cooperate, within cross -border visual dialogues, based on the importance of supporting the new generation of artists in the Arab world and providing them with the tools that enable them to express their visions and their imagination freely and trust.

She pointed out that the “Workshop” program contributes to building the capabilities of young people interested and specialized in writing, drawing and publishing children’s books closely related to local Arab cultural roots that compete with international standards, whether short or comic stories (comics) or novels that offer children a way to cross into the worlds of imagination that ultimately seeks to cultivate the love of reading in the hearts of future generations.

The workshop concluded, with an open art exhibition for the public, organized in the CDA Gallery, which included the work of the participants. The paintings presented expressed multiple artistic readings of topics inspired by popular memory and local legends, using methods ranging from manual drawing, collage, digital drawing and experimenting with different materials, and contributed to enabling each group of participants to learn about contemporary technical trends For their counterparts from the other country.
