Russian forces announce the restoration of 99% of the occupied lands
Russian Chief of Staff Valerie Gerasimov said on Saturday that his forces have recovered more than 99 percent of the Kursk region occupied by Ukraine in an attack in August.

Earlier, officials announced that Russia expelled the Ukrainian forces from one of its last strong strongholds in the Kursk region.
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that its forces took control of the village of Olisenia on the border with Ukraine.

The ministry stated in a statement that “units of the” Northern Military Group “liberated the village of Olishia in the Kursk region during active offensive operations.
The TASS News Agency said that Russia is still fighting to remove the Ukrainian forces from the village of Journal, about 11 km south of Olishia.
