"Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority" Feeling with "World Heritage Day"
Abu Dhabi, April 19/ WAM/ The Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority celebrated World Heritage Day, which falls on April 18 of each year, in conjunction with the annual celebrations organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on this occasion, with the aim of enhancing awareness of the importance of the cultural heritage of humanity, and highlighting the efforts made to protect and protect it for future generations.
Within the framework of this occasion, the authority organized a bouquet of societal events, cultural competitions and heritage activities that aim to consolidate societal awareness of the value of heritage and highlight its pivotal role in preserving the national and cultural identity.
These activities are in line with the goals of the commission represented in the definition of the cultural and civilizational heritage of the UAE, the enhancement of the association of community members of the national heritage as part of its social textile, in addition to spreading the educational and national values derived from the heritage of the ancestors, and the definition of the authority’s message and its goals in this field.
The event included a program rich in heritage, culture and entertainment that included live workshops for the letters of Al -Tilo, Sadu and wicker, in addition to various popular games for boys and girls, educational workshops and awareness competitions, and cultural lectures that highlight the importance of heritage and its role in the development and renaissance of societies, as well as highlighting the efforts of the UAE in the field of heritage preservation and coloring.
Abdullah Butti Al Qubaisi, Executive Director of the Acting Awareness and Heritage Knowledge Sector at the Authority, said that the world celebrates on April 18 of each year the World Heritage Day with the aim of enhancing awareness of the value of the cultural and natural heritage of humanity, and the redoubling of its efforts, and its preservation of future generations, and an affirmation of this, the World Heritage Day this year holds the slogan of “common cultures, joint heritage, joint responsibility” and this emphasizes the importance of heritage The participant is that it represents the human identity, provides bridges of tolerance, and spreads peace messages among all nationalities and cultures.
He pointed out that the heritage in the UAE is an essential part of the culture of society, and a source of its strength, support and cohesion of its members.
