Tourism decreased in the United States and expectations of a loss of $ 90 billion this year

The tourism and travel sector in the United States of America has declined significantly, reflecting the decline in the United States’ attractiveness to international tourists recently, in light of the commercial policies pursued by US President Donald Trump, and hostile rhetoric towards many countries of the world, which cast a shadow of international travel to the country.

This decline warns of severe economic repercussions, as Goldman Sachs expected that the losses of the United States will reach about $ 90 billion this year as a result of the decline in tourism and the increasing boycott of American products, according to what was reported by the American “NBC” network.

Tourists from Canada were the most retreating, after the United States targeted its neighbor in the north directly through commercial restrictions, indirectly through Trump’s statements indicating that Canada could become a “fifty -first term” of the United States.

Data issued by the American Customs and Protection Authority showed that the number of visitors coming from the northern border declined by 12.5% in February on an annual basis, by 18% in March, and the tourism movement coming from Western Europe witnessed a 12% significant decrease in March. Some tourists from countries that were historically among the most visited the United States, such as the United Kingdom and Germany, preferred not to travel to American territory, as the tourism movement from those countries decreased by 29% in March, according to the National Travel and Tourism Office of the US Department of Trade.
