"Cultural Umm Al Quwain" The “Knowledge Fund” program is launched to promote reading and cultural identity

Umm Al -Quwain on April 23 / WAM / Umm Al Quwain Cultural Center, in cooperation with the Association for the Protection of the Arabic Language, launched the “Knowledge Fund” program, in an initiative aimed at consolidating the love of reading among students, and enhancing the position of the Arabic language in the hearts of young people, as it is a basic pillar of national and cultural identity.

The program comes in the context of the continuous efforts of the Ministry of Culture in supporting the Arabic language, by adopting the qualitative initiatives that contribute to spreading and activating their use in daily life.

The program, which was attended by His Excellency Mohamed Issa Al -Kasif, member of the Federal National Council and officials of government institutions in Umm Al Quwain, included the organization of six interactive workshops with the participation of students of Umm Al Quwain Educational District Schools, which included a workshop for Arabic calligraphy, a workshop for reading children’s stories, and a video drawing workshop, along with an exhibition accompanying books.

The children of the Kindergarten and the Castle School for Basic and Secondary Education also presented the paragraph of “Al -Katatib”, known locally as “Al -Tomaina”, which is one of the heritage educational initiatives that were revived with the aim of consolidating the national identity and enhancing the presence of the Arabic language the language of the Holy Quran, and the “Al -Hakawati” paragraph won a great interaction from the attendees, because of its inclusive narratives in a contemporary and attractive style that reflects the richness of popular literature Emirati.

Mr. Abdullah Bou Asiba, Director of Umm Al Quwain Cultural Center, stressed the importance of the role that the UAE plays in establishing the position of the Arabic language, supporting reading and promoting the cultural movement, through qualitative initiatives that support writers and authors, and opens new horizons for emerging generations to acquire knowledge.

He pointed out that the Ministry of Culture and the concerned authorities play a strategic role in protecting and publishing the Arabic language, by launching initiatives, programs and cultural projects that contribute to increasing the spread of the language and enhancing its use in various areas of life.

He explained that the “Knowledge Fund” program comes in line with the strategic goals of the Ministry of Culture, which is to support the national identity, enhance the use of the Arabic language, and increase reading rates in society.

At the end of the program, the participants were honored in appreciation of their efforts and contributions to the success of the program.
