Trump calls on Ukraine and Russia to hold high -level talks

US President Donald Trump called Ukraine and Russia to hold a meeting to hold “very high” talks, after he said they were very close to reaching an agreement to end the bloody war that has been going on for more than three years.
Soon after his arrival in Rome to attend the funeral of Pope Francis, Trump wrote on his “Truth Social for social networking” website, that he was a “good day” of conversations and meetings between the two sides.

His envoy, Steve Whitchov, visited Moscow to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday.
“They are very close to reaching an agreement, and the two sides must now meet, at very high levels” to put an end to it, “Trump wrote.

“Most of the main points were agreed. Stop bloodshed now. We will be anywhere necessary to help facilitate the end of this harsh and absurd war!”
