Trump fees are similar to the policy of the stick and the island

The US Treasury Secretary admitted on Sunday that the president’s volatile policy on customs duties that caused the turbulence of global markets is similar to the policy of the stick and the island, describing it as a way to create a “state of strategic uncertainty” that gives Washington to prevail.
The two largest economies in the world have been facing since Trump ignited a global trade war by imposing customs duties that in particular targeted Chinese imports.
China responded to the United States similarly, raising the percentage of American fees imposed on Chinese imports to 145%, and Chinese fees imposed on Emiri imports to 125%.
In front of dozens of countries, a 90 -day period ends in July to reach an agreement with Washington and avoid imposing higher identities for each country.

Strategic uncertainty

“In the theory of games, this is called strategic uncertainty, so you will not tell the other party in negotiations where things will end.”
“No one is better than President Trump in creating this kind of influence,” the Treasury Minister added.

He continued, that Trump “resorted to exorbitant customs duties, and this is the stick, this is the place you can reach, while the carrot is: Come to us, remove your customs duties, remove non -customs commercial barriers, stop supporting work and capital and then we can speak.”

Mose with Asian countries

Trump had confirmed that there are many deals on the table, but the details in this regard were minimal.
When he asked him to clarify this, Besent escaped, contenting with saying that some negotiations “are going well, especially with the Asian countries.”
