Dubai Roads developing the seasonal maritime transport network

Dubai Roads and Transport Authority announced the development of the “seasonal network” initiative for maritime transport services, by adopting flexible scientific and technical methods that respond to seasons variables, holidays and events, provided that the application of the new operational plan begins the summer season on May 2, in order to enhance the efficiency of the network and reduce operational costs.

The authority emphasized that the initiative adopts internal algorithms to analyze huge data from multiple sources, with the aim of developing a flexible operating plan, adapting to the nature of the season and the needs of passengers without affecting their requirements, which contributes to improving occupancy rates and increasing revenues.

In the development of the network, the predictive analysis methodology was used to anticipate the expected demand, and to determine the time of dumping and the number of trips, based on detailed data that includes the number of passengers, occupancy and revenue rates, allowing simulating customer behavior and improving operational decision -making.

The authority explained that the seasonal application of the plan will be repeated according to the durable time schedules for each operational period separately, ensuring the sustainability of providing the service efficiently and accurately, and enhances the elasticity of the operational network, according to the finest global practices in the Maritime Transport Administration.
