Dubai World opens a representative office in Cape Town

Dubai International Chamber, one of the three rooms operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, announced the opening of a representative office in Cape Town, South Africa, with the aim of strengthening ties between the business community in Dubai and South Africa, and enhancing bilateral economic partnerships.
The opening of the new office comes at a time when commercial relations between Dubai and South Africa are in a remarkable expansion, as the volume of non -oil trade between the two sides, last year, reached about 29 billion dirhams, achieving annual growth by 20%, while the number of active members from South Africa increased in the membership of the Dubai Chamber Only the first of 2025, indicating the continued positive momentum.
The launch of the office came within the “Dubai Global” initiative aimed at establishing 50 representative offices around the world by 2030, in order to attract foreign direct investments, in addition to supporting Dubai -based companies in exploring new economic and commercial opportunities.
A statement, issued yesterday, stated that the opening of the office was announced during a meeting held at the headquarters of Dubai’s rooms between a high -level delegation from South Africa, headed by the Prime Minister of the West Cape Province in South Africa, Alan Wendi, and the Director General of Dubai Chambers, Mohamed Ali Rashid Lootah, where during the meeting, the development of joint work mechanisms was discussed, and the growth of trade and investment movement between the West Cape region was stimulated.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed ways to increase the volume of trade exchange, enhance the movement of inter -tourism, and open new horizons for joint investments, and discussions focused on upgrading joint efforts to develop business relations between the private sector in Dubai and South Africa.
The meeting affirmed the joint ambition between the rooms of Dubai and the West Cape Government, to build a solid economic bridge linking Dubai and West Kape region in South Africa.
Lootah said: “South Africa is an important commercial partner for Dubai and a promising market to expand in many sectors. The opening of the Dubai World Chamber’s office in Cape Town embodies our commitment to enhancing economic cooperation with the West Cape Town region and South Africa in general. It also constitutes a qualitative step to support the ability of companies in South Africa to benefit from Dubai ingredients as a vital gateway to expand towards global markets, and we look forward to building new business parties It contributes to achieving mutual growth and prosperity. ”
For his part, Wendy said: “The Western Cape Town Regional Government welcomes the opening of a new representative office for the Dubai World Chamber in Cape Town, where Dubai is full of promising trade opportunities for the West Kaib region, which has wide capabilities, and we look forward to strengthening our fruitful economic partnership in the long term.”
