His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, addressed a speech on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the unification of the armed forces, and His Highness said: “ The founding leaders, may God bless them, to be the sixth of May 1976, is one of the most important wise historical decisions that constituted a qualitative shift in unifying, modernizing and enhancing the efficiency of our Emirati armed forces, under central leadership and a unified entity that protects the security and stability of the country, and protects its achievements and capabilities, and the bond and help of the right, peace, growth and prosperity in the region and the world ».

His Highness added: “The unification of the armed forces was not just an organizational decision, but rather an embodiment of the founding of the founding fathers, and a fateful decision that formed our present, drawing our future, and paved the way for us to enjoy today with good, security and prosperity.”

His Highness continued: “Our armed forces have received special care and great attention from my brother His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, believing from His Highness that security is the cornerstone of any development or development, progress, growth, economic and social prosperity does not continue without a modern military establishment, and an integrated defensive system, led by a constellation of the loyal people His Highness contributed to the leadership of the comprehensive modernization march of our armed forces, and achieved qualitative leaps and a remarkable development that made it in the ranks of global armies in terms of technical, technological progress, and combat efficiency, as well as at the level of readiness and preparation, to become a striking force capable of deterrence and defending the soil and achievements of the homeland ».
