Britain plans to restrict visas for some nationalities

The UK plans to restrict visa applications of nationalities that are considered the most likely to stay illegally and submit asylum applications, according to a press report.

The “Times” newspaper reported that the British Ministry of the Interior may limit the requests for work and study visas from nationalities such as Pakistani, Nigerians and Chrilans, as part of plans to be announced in the “White Migration Book” soon, as part of the government’s efforts to reduce the net numbers of immigrants, according to the British News Agency (BA Media).

In its electoral statement, the Labor Party pledged to reduce the number of migrants, stressing that “the level of net immigration must be under effective control and management,” adding that “the failure to do so weakens the incentives of companies to train local workers.”

A spokesman for the British Ministry of the Interior said: “To address the misuse of work and study visas by foreigners who come and then demand resort, we collect intelligence information about the files of these people to define them faster.”

He added: “We keep the visa system under continuous review, and we will take measures without hesitation if we monitor trends that may undermine the rules of immigration. Within the framework of our plan for reform, the next white book for immigration will present a comprehensive plan to restore the system to the damaged immigration system.”
