It stopped the flow of rivers .. India declares the water war on Pakistan

“The waters of India were flowing abroad,” Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a speech. “
India suspended its participation in a water -sharing treaty in 1960 with Pakistan, in response to the attack that killed 26 people on April 22 in the tourist city of Bahgham in the Indian part of Kashmir.
No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but India has accused Pakistan, which categorically denied the matter.
The vow of war between the two countries has been looming since the attack, which is the most share of the lives of civilians for more than 20 years in the Indian part of this Muslim -majority region.
Modify the flow of the Shinab River
Hours before Modi announced, Pakistan accused India of amending the flow of the Shinab River, one of the three rivers that was placed under the control of Islamabad under the 1960 agreement.
“We recorded unfamiliar changes in the Shinab River, and the river, which was normal, decreased significantly overnight.”
The day after India’s suspension of its participation in the treaty, Islamabad warned that prejudice to its rivers would be a “war action”.
The Punjab region is inhabited by about half of the 240 million Pakistan population, which is the beating heart of the country’s agricultural sector.
The Shinab River stems from India, but Pakistan was granted control under the Sind Water Treaty signed in the year 1960 between the two nuclear powers.
The New Delhi Sindhi Treaty gives the right to use the joint rivers to build its dams or irrigate its crops, but it prohibits it by converting waterways or changing the flow of water in the direction of the river.
The disruption of the agricultural season in Pakistan
Experts warn that stopping river flow cannot last for long periods.
But according to the “Pavilion Institute”, a Pakistani research center, “the lowest changes in the timeline of water flow, not its quantity, can disrupt the agricultural season and limit agricultural crops” in Pakistan.
India’s announcement comes while the level of tension between it and Pakistan has increased to the highest level.
Many experts and residents fear a military confrontation between the two nuclear powers, which have already fought several wars.
