Announcing the details of the closing stage of the 12th session of the School Theater Festival in Sharjah

Sharjah, May 8 / WAM / The theater administration in the Department of Culture in Sharjah revealed the details of the closing phase of the twelfth session of the Sharjah School Theater Festival, which is carried out under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah during the period from 12 to 15 May, with the participation of 15 theatrical shows that qualified after an introductory qualifiers that witnessed competition between 62 shows presented by the schools of Sharjah and the Central Regions.

During the press conference that was held today at the Palace of Culture, the theater administration explained that the festival will witness theatrical performances representing the various educational levels, and its activities will be held on the theaters of the House of Poetry and the Palace of Culture Palace, where the performances will be opened on Monday morning with three plays dedicated to students of the first episode, while the performances continue during the festival days with the participation of schools from the city of Sharjah, the central region and the eastern region.

The festival is one of the most prominent cultural and educational initiatives in Sharjah, and it embodies the emirate’s keenness to support theatrical activity in schools, as it is an educational tool that contributes to the consolidation of national values ​​and the development of creative and cognitive skills among students.

Maryam Al -Muaini, the general coordinator of the festival, said: Five shows from the city of Sharjah qualified for the final stage of the city Al -Balia “for Al -Thumaid School,” Maryam’s dream “for Al -Battah School,” What was disappointed “for Nizwa School,” Adela “and” The Kingdom of Wonder “for Al -Madam School and from the Eastern Region, offers: And “waiting” for Saif Al -Arabi School.

The performances are held by an artistic committee that includes the artists Jumaa Ali, Amal Muhammad and Faisal Ali, where eight awards are competed in the academic levels, and cover the theatrical performance elements of composition, representation, directing, collective and review, in addition to the Special Jury Prize, and the award for the best integrated presentation.

Mohamed Sayed, a theater critic, added: The festival is accompanied by the announcement of the results of the “Sharjah Award for School Theater Author”, which is the largest of its kind at the level of the state and the region, and is granted to teachers and students from the Arab Gulf states, with a total value of 150 thousand dirhams.

In the category of teachers, Ahmed Abdel -Qader Al -Rifai won the text of “The Last Broadcast” (first place), Khaled Walid Raslan on the text of “Evo 9” (II), and Nasser Abdullah Rashid Al -Kanhal on the text of “the mission of anonymous pillars” (third).

As for the students ’category, Malak Omar Alloush won the first place for the text of“ The child Malak and the written book ”, and Shatha Abd al -Latif Jaber on the second place on the text of“ On the day my mother shouted in my name ”, and Nour Yasser Mohamed Al -Qusayr won the third place on the text of“ My Environment Anti ”.
