Mohammed Al-Sharqi witnesses the International Taekwondo Federation awards ceremony for the 2025 sports season
FUJAIRAH, 3 FEBRUARY / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, stressed the role of the sports sector in supporting the vision of the Emirate of Fujairah and advancing the pillars of its comprehensive and sustainable growth.
This came during His Highness’ attendance this evening at the Al Bahr Hotel and Resort, the International Taekwondo Federation Awards Ceremony, honoring distinguished sports figures and entities for the year 2025, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Choi Chung-won, President of the International Taekwondo Federation, and a number of officials and international sports figures.
His Highness pointed to the follow-up and keenness of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, to support the sports sector and develop its environment, in a way that contributes to honing the skills of athletes and supporting and encouraging them to participate in international sports competitions, as a contribution to strengthening the position of the Emirate of Fujairah, and the UAE, in regional and international forums.
His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah praised the efforts made by the International Taekwondo Federation and the Supreme Organizing Committee of the Fujairah International Open Taekwondo Championship and the Arab Cup Championship, stressing that the tight organization and commitment to international standards reflects the emirate’s continued readiness to host the largest sporting events and achieve its goals.
His Highness honored Belgian taekwondo player Sarah Shaari with the award for best female athlete in the world.
For his part, His Excellency Dr. Choi Chung-won expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah for the continuous support for sports in the emirate, and for providing an ideal environment for developing games and organizing international competitions according to the highest international standards.
The Emirate of Fujairah is hosting the International Taekwondo Federation Awards Ceremony for the second time, after hosting the ceremony in 2018, in the presence of senior officials of the International Federation and an elite group of sports figures, as part of the schedule of prestigious international sporting events that the emirate witnessed at the time, confirming its position as a global sports destination.
The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al-Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah, His Excellency Nader Abu Shawish, Director of the Fujairah Martial Arts Club, members of the Executive Office of the International Taekwondo Federation, and a number of local officials.
