The Crown Prince of Fujairah is witnessing the opening ceremony of the World Taekwondo Championship for Junior Fujairah 2025
Fujairah, May 11/ WAM/ His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, confirmed that the hosting of Fujairah for international championships embodies the confidence of the international sports community in the UAE and the Emirate of Fujairah in particular, because of its advanced infrastructure and qualified organizational cadres, which contributes to the consolidation of its position as an international sports center.
This came during the attendance of His Highness the official opening ceremony of the World Taekwondo Championship for Junior – Fujairah 2025, which is held under the patronage of His Highness in the Zayed Sports Complex, with the participation of more than 800 athletes and sports from 93 countries.
The ceremony was witnessed by Sheikh Dr. Al -Rashid bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Fujairah Authority for Culture and Information, and His Excellency Dr. Zhou Chung Won, President of the International Taekwondo Federation, as well as members of the Federation’s Executive Office.
His Highness praised the support and follow -up of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Muhammad Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, for the march of sports and athletes, as it is an essential pillar of continuing excellence in various international forums, as well as its effective contribution to embodying the state’s strategy and achieving its global vision in this field.
His Highness praised the level of organization and efforts made to make the championship a success, which contributes to reflecting an honorable image of the emirate and the state and its capabilities to host the major global sporting events and championships.
His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al -Zyoudi, President of the Emirates Taekwondo Federation, member of the International Taekwondo Federation, Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee for the tournament, confirmed in a speech that the tournament achieved a international record with the participation of 811 athletes and sports from 93 countries, thanks to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, and the insightful vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah.
Al -Zyoudi added that the Emirate of Fujairah is proud to host this distinguished global event in Taekwondo, praising the great support of the International Taekwondo Federation, the Ministry of Sports, and all partners and partners, which had a great impact on the success of this tournament.
His Excellency Dr. Zhou Chung Won said that this tournament is so far the largest of its kind at the level of junior championships, which reflects the great importance that the member national federations (MNAS) attaches to the development of the youth category and expressed his gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, for his continuous support for organizing sports championships, as well as his great humanitarian support for refugees and displaced people around the world.
His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah honored the championship sponsors, who are the company (& E) and the Fujairah Investment Company, as well as its strategic partners, the Ministry of Sports and the General Command of the Fujairah Police, in appreciation of their prominent role in supporting and successful this tournament.
The ceremony witnessed distinguished artistic shows and show paintings from the Korean Taekwondo teams in a festive atmosphere that brought together excitement and enthusiasm, in an opening that reflects the spirit of honorable competition and cultural convergence between peoples.
The tournament continues until May 14th, during which the participants compete for the titles of multiple categories, amid expectations of strong competitions and high technical levels, in light of the participation of promising heroes representing the future of Taekwondo globally.
The opening ceremony was attended by His Excellency Ghanem Mubarak Al -Hajri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports, His Excellency Abdullah Ibrahim Al -Ahmad, Vice -President of the Senior Sales of Grand and Government Institutions in Etisalat (& E), His Excellency Muhammad Saeed Al -Dhanhani, Director General of the Fujairah Investment Corporation, Major General Muhammad Ahmed bin Ghanem Al -Kaabi, Commander -in -Chief of the Fujairah Police, His Excellency Nader Abu Shawish, Director of the tournament, and representatives of the federations concerned with the Taekwondo.
