Ajman University enters the list of the top 400 universities in the world

Ajman, June 18 / WAM / Ajman University has achieved its highest ranking ever in the QS World University Rankings, after it was ranked for the first time in its history among the top 400 universities in the world, occupying 397th place globally in the 2027 edition of this ranking, which is considered one of the most prominent and important internationally accredited academic rankings.

This achievement embodies the path of increasing development that the university is witnessing on the global scene, as it rose from the “801-1000” category in the 2019 edition of the classification to the 397th place globally in the 2027 edition, in a qualitative progress achieved in less than ten years.

This year’s results show that Ajman University is currently ahead of about 73.7% of the total ranked higher education institutions around the world, which reflects the tangible progress that the university has achieved in a number of fundamental areas, the most prominent of which are academic reputation, the university’s reputation with employers, international interaction, research performance, and the outcomes of the educational process.

Commenting on this achievement, Dr. Karim Al-Saghir, Director of Ajman University, said that the university’s entry into the list of the top 400 universities in the world is considered a turning point in the university’s institutional journey, and an affirmation of years of diligent work to enhance academic quality, research impact, international openness, and graduate outcomes.

He added that as the university approaches celebrating its fortieth anniversary in 2028, this achievement takes on special significance. It represents the culmination of nearly four decades of continuous development, and the result of the contribution of a global alumni network that includes more than 45,000 graduates, as well as the collective efforts of all Ajman University affiliates.

He stressed that classifications do not represent an end in themselves, but they remain an important external indicator to measure the institution’s progress. This achievement confirms the growing role of Ajman University in the higher education sector in the UAE, and its constant keenness to prepare graduates capable of serving, leading, and making an impact in a rapidly changing world.

In addition to this progress at the international level, Ajman University has strengthened its position at the local level, as it ranked sixth in the UAE, second in the country in the international student index, and fourth in the country in the university’s reputation index with employers. These results reflect the university’s increasing ability to attract international talent, in addition to employers’ growing confidence in the quality of its graduates and their readiness for the labor market.

In the 2027 edition, QS evaluated 8,808 universities in 106 countries around the world, including 1,504 institutions at the global level and 12 institutions at the local level.

The QS World University Rankings based its evaluation on a set of indicators, including academic reputation, the university’s reputation with employers, research impact, internationalization, employment outcomes, faculty-student ratio, in addition to the sustainability index.

Ajman University achieved remarkable results in the internationalization axis, as it obtained a full score of 100 out of 100 in both the international faculty members and international students indicators. It also ranked fourth globally in the international faculty members index, and fourth place in the UAE in the International Scientific Research Network index, which reflects its ability to attract international academic competencies and build value-added international research partnerships.

QS also classified the research intensity of Ajman University in the “very high” category, indicating its growing research standing and its growing role in producing knowledge, supporting innovation, and achieving applied impact.
