Minister of Economy: 13 thousand companies and 66 thousand American brands in the UAE
Abu Dhabi, May 15 / WAM / His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri, Minister of Economy, said that the UAE and the United States of America are linked to historical and strategic relations based on friendship and joint understanding, and that the visit of His Excellency US President Donald Trump to the UAE comes within the framework of the vision and approach of the rational leadership in strengthening the partnership bridges and enhancing dialogue with friendly countries and supporting economic openness to the world, in a way that establishes the UAE’s position as a global economic center Attractive and influential, and to support the achievement of the sustainable economic and social development process at the regional and global levels.
He added that the two countries are providing a unique model in the distinguished economic partnership, and they possess common economic visions and strategies on expansion and investment in the new economy sectors as major sectors that accelerate the transformation towards sustainable economic models.
He said: “In this context, we are keen to continue working with our partners in the American government and the private sector to provide more opportunities and potentials in these vital sectors for Emirati and American business community.”
His Excellency continued: “The economic relations between the two countries are witnessing continuous growth in various fields and activities, as the total number of American companies operating in the UAE markets reached approximately 13 thousand companies so far, in addition to the presence of more than 66 thousand American brands in the country by the end of 2024, and the number of Emirati companies in America reached more than 115 companies operating in various economic activities, including health care, e -commerce, tourism, aviation and hospitality Technology and artificial intelligence. ” His Excellency pointed out that the tourism sector constitutes one of the main axes in economic cooperation between the two countries; Where the hotel facilities in the country received approximately 980 thousand and 200 inmates of American citizenship during the year 2024, with a growth rate of 5.4% compared to 2023, and the number of flights between the two countries reached 112 flights per week, which confirms the continuous increase in tourism activities and fields between the two countries.
