The “amateur” league needs “mouse” technology to reduce the gap with the professionals

The head of the football company at Dibba Al-Hisn Club, Muhammad Abdullah Al-Tarban, confirmed that the first division “amateur” league competitions need exceptional support from the Football Association, especially at the organizational and technical levels, and the “VAR” technology, so that the distance between it and the professional league becomes less than it is now. This will also help the emerging clubs to adapt better to the requirements of the top-flight league, and will address the common concept of “up is down,” as he put it.

The Dibba Al Hisn team occupies third place in the league team standings with 36 points, behind leaders United with 43 points, and Al Dhaid II with 37 points, while Hatta, Al Arabi and Al Orouba are in the top six positions in the ranking table.

Mohammed Al-Tarban told Emirates Today: “The First Division League needs greater support to get closer to the level of the Professional League, because reducing the gap between the two competitions will benefit Emirati football in general. As the level of the First Division improves, the emerging teams become more ready to compete in the Professional League.”

“The mouse” is a necessity

Al-Tarban revealed that the lack of regular video assistant referee (VAR) technology in first-class league matches is one of the challenges facing teams competing for promotion and survival, indicating that demanding the application of the technology does not represent a detraction from the referees’ efforts.

He explained: “We greatly appreciate the great efforts made by match referees, but the presence of the mouse technology has become part of the modern football system, and it helps referees make the right decisions, and gives the competition more justice and clarity.”

Ascension ambition

Al-Tarban explained that Dibba Al-Hisn Club is dealing with the current season according to a clear vision, aiming to ascend to the professional league in first place by achieving technical and administrative stability.

He continued: “We aspire to resolve the promotion issue early, and we have worked since the beginning of the season to address the challenges facing the team, and any decline in results is nothing more than a setback that can be overcome with work, focus, and adherence to the team spirit.”

He added: “The atmosphere inside the team’s dressing room is very positive, and there is clear discipline and control over the course of work within the team, and this is directly reflected in the players’ performance on the field.”

Nine finals

Al-Tarban pointed out that the club’s management is keen to provide all the requirements for success for the team, whether at the level of players or the technical and administrative staff.

He continued: “We treat each match as an independent tournament, especially since we have nine remaining matches that can be described as 10 finals, so we maintain our focus in each round.”

He added: “The contracts concluded by the club during the winter transfer period had a positive impact in supporting the team, as Cameroonian player Pierre Kounde provided a good technical addition, in addition to a number of elements that contributed to strengthening the team’s strength. The team also includes a group of experienced leadership players.”

Coach Bruno

Al-Tarban praised the technical work provided by Portuguese coach Bruno Pereira, stressing: “The coach provides distinguished technical work and leads the team with high professionalism, in addition to the important role played by the administrative staff in providing a stable atmosphere that helps the team focus and achieve its goals.”

Al-Tarban spoke about his team’s fans, stating: “Dibba Al-Hisn Club enjoys a good crowd presence, and our fans are known for their sports culture and their keenness to support the team, and their natural ambition is to see the team achieve victory in all matches.”
