The UAE and America sign a letter of intent on establishing a major defense partnership between the two countries

During an official ceremony held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense in Abu Dhabi, Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Defense Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, and the Higseth Minister of Defense, signed a letter of intent to establish a major defense partnership between the United States and the United Arab Emirates.

The letter of intent is a joint commitment to developing an organized road map aimed at enhancing joint military cooperation, developing capabilities, and achieving long -term alignment in the field of defense between the two countries. The two sides will cooperate in setting a phased framework to enhance the bilateral readiness of the forces, increase the ability to join joint work, and deepen the cooperation based on innovation.

As part of this partnership, the US Secretary of Defense announced a new strategic initiative between the American Defense Innovation Unit (DIUThe Balance Council in the United Arab Emirates. This cooperation aims to deepen cooperation in the field of defensive innovation, facilitate research and joint development, and expand industrial and investment partnerships between the two defense systems in the two countries.

In addition, the UAE was officially welcomed to the American National Guard partnership program (SPP), Through a partnership with the National Guard of Texas. This partnership will contribute to enhancing military modernization efforts, enhancing cooperation in the areas of integrated air defense and missile defense, cybersecurity, disaster response, and operational planning.

The classification of the UAE as a major defense partner for the United States reflects a relationship that has spanned decades, and is based on mutual trust, common goals, and joint commitment to regional and global security.
