"The Bahraini Ministry of Industry" It invites Emirati manufacturers to benefit from "National content programs"

Abu Dhabi, May 19 / WAM / Dr. Khaled Fahd Al -Alawi, Assistant Undersecretary for Industry Development at the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the Kingdom of Bahrain, called on Emirati manufacturers to benefit from the agreement signed with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology in the Emirates related to national content programs.
Al -Alawi said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency, “WAM” during “Made in the Emirates”, that the agreement allows manufacturers in the UAE to benefit from preference mechanisms in government purchases in Bahrain by 10%, while allowing Bahraini manufacturers to benefit from the UAE national content program and obtain preferred advantages in the federal government purchases in the UAE.
He noted the strategy of the industry sector in Bahrain for the period 2022-2026 as it is based on the foundations that intersect greatly with the priorities of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology in the UAE, especially with regard to achieving industrial integration, developing industrial investments, and adopting the localization of industries.
Regarding the status of the industrial sector in Bahrain, Al -Alawi stressed that the Kingdom’s endeavor, through its industrial strategy, to attract investments exceeding 5 billion Bahraini dinars by the end of 2026, pointing out that Bahrain has come a long way towards achieving this goal, with one year remaining on the end of the current strategic session.
He stressed Bahrain’s endeavor through this strategy to raise the contribution of the industrial sector to the local product and increase the value of national exports, as well as creating qualitative and promising job opportunities for Bahraini citizens.
He pointed out that the industrial sector is the second largest shareholder in GDP within non -oil sectors, by more than 15% of the gross domestic product, and comes after the financial services sector.
He explained that Bahrain is an active member of the integrative industrial partnership of sustainable economic development launched by the UAE in May 2022, along with Jordan, Egypt and Morocco, which Qatar and Turkey recently joined, describing this partnership as a strategic platform to enhance regional industrial efficiency and expand the scope of joint investments.
On the Bahraini participation in the fourth edition of “Made in the Emirates”, Al -Alawi stressed that it represents a clear evidence of the Kingdom’s commitment to achieving industrial integration with the United Arab Emirates, and pushing forward towards developing supply chains and joint investment in the industrial sector.
He stressed that the platform “Made in the Emirates” has become a prominent industrial event in the region, noting that their participation today embodies serious determination to enhance industrial integration between the two brotherly countries.
