The Food and Drug Authority warned commercial printing presses against the consequences of printing any covers or packages for pharmaceutical or herbal preparations, except on the authority of an official and documented request issued by the pharmaceutical factories that have a regular license from the authority.
The authority stressed that this procedure is necessary to avoid the printing presses of the regular accountability resulting from violating the provisions of the regulations in force.

Control a violation printing press

The authority said, in a recent speech to the Saudi Chambers Union, that it recently monitored that one of the presses printed packages for a pharmacist product at the direct request of a member.
She explained that this request was carried out without any commercial entity licensed by the Food and Drug General Authority allowing the manufacture or circulation of such preparations, which constitutes a clear violation.
In its circulation, “Food and Drug” emphasized that it obligates all commercial presses to strictly adhere to this directive, noting that Article 34 of the Pharmaceutical and Herbal Facilities and In preparations stipulate in its eighth paragraph that “it is contrary to the provisions of the system, everyone who made, printed, won, sold, or displayed packages or covers to a pharmacist or herbal preparation with the intention of cheating.”

Protecting consumer rights

This emphasis aims to prevent any attempts to mislead consumers or endanger their health through unreliable or adulterated products.
The Authority called on the facilities, especially commercial presses, of the necessity of exercising its supervisory role and immediately reporting any requests that it received from unlicensed facilities to manufacture pharmaceutical or herbal preparations, or if they are received direct requests by individuals for this purpose.
She explained that these cases can be reported through their approved official communication channels, in order to contribute to the control of the market and protect public health.
