Rabat, May 24 / WAM / Amna Ali Al -Adidi, a member of the Federal National Council, participated in the session “Artificial Intelligence and its Governance: Enhancing Parliamentary Awareness in developing artificial intelligence, application and organization”, within the work of the third session of the Marrakech Economic Forum for the Euro Mediterranean region and the Gulf of the White Sea Parliament in the Kingdom of Morocco.
In the intervention of the Emirati parliamentary Division, Amna Al -Akdi stressed the importance of organizing dialogue sessions and parliamentary seminars directed to the members of the national parliaments, aiming to explain the concepts of artificial intelligence, and to clarify the importance of setting legal legislation that regulates its use safely and responsible.
She stressed the importance of strengthening partnership with educational and media institutions to launch awareness initiatives aimed at raising the level of public awareness of the effects of artificial intelligence, stressing the legislative role of parliaments in ensuring the responsible and fair use of these technologies.
It also reviewed the efforts and projects of the UAE in developing artificial intelligence technologies, as it is an essential pillar in building an advanced knowledge economy based on innovation and modern technology.
In this context, she explained that the UAE has adopted, as the first country in the Middle East, a law that is required to include artificial intelligence within the curricula starting from the academic year 2025-2026, within the framework of a comprehensive national vision aimed at preparing a conscious and able generation of future tools, and contributes to the consolidation of the pillars of sustainable development, which enhances the country’s competitiveness during the coming decades.
